I Love It !,
by Vanessa Anita Edgar, 2009-11-18
It is convenient, simple, and very easy to use and download music. Nothing complicated about it. The sound is great. I love the easy access to the different catagories it automactically sorts your music into and the way it gives you the Artist Name and the Title of the song when played by just one easy click and hold button. I use it when I walk and jog. It is so tiny, I can clip it anywhere and never feel the weight of it. I absolutely adore it ! It is an excellent purchase. I am a satisfied custmer with this product.
Awesome,

This Ipod is awesome and it stays charged for 2 days of moderate use. Its light weight and fits about everywhere unnoticibly. Great for being on the go!
Great for workouts,
by Katie A, 2010-01-14
I happen to really like this product. I have had two (the first was destroyed by accident by no one's fault other than my own) and have not had any problems with either of them. I understand other customers' frustration with only being able to operate the shuffle from the earbuds, but I've found that I actually prefer it. I use my shuffle strictly for workouts and have a regular iPod for daily use. The ease of use and being able to control my music from the earbud wire is actually easier for me. I didn't think I would like it at first but it has grown on me and once I got used to it I really liked it. It's so small and lightweight that I barely know it's there and doesn't get in the way of my movement. I love my shuffle!
An Awesome Apple Product for Running and Working Out,
by Reading Girl, 2009-12-14
After using this iPod shuffle extensively for over 6 months, I am still extremely happy and satisfied with it! I run 25-30 miles per week outdoors in Wisconsin, and I tested this product through hot, humid summer days and winter days that are below 20 degrees. It always works great for long runs of 10-20 miles at a time as well! I sweat a normal amount, and I have NEVER had a problem with sweat getting into the headphones or shorting anything out. Unless you are a heavy sweater or live in extremely humid conditions, I do not believe you will have problems with anything like this, as some reviewers have been complaining of.
I also find the controls easy to use. The spot near my neck on my headphones where the control buttons are took me about a week to get used to, and now I love it. Pressing the middle button once for play or pause, twice to skip to the next song, three times to go back a song, and then pressing and holding down to hear the name of the song and the artist and then continuing to hold down to switch playlists was also something that took me about a week to get used to. It is definitely worth it to gain the ability to have multiple playlists and the small size and weight of this item! As someone who likes to participate in races for fun, I love the compact size and weight of this shuffle as it doesn't slow me down at all on long runs! Having run with the previous brand of shuffle and various generations of the Nano, you really notice the difference in how this new shuffle clips on the bottom of a shirt or jacket, and one can't even feel that it's there throughout a multi-hour workout! It's also so convenient to have various playlists on this shuffle so that I can mix up the music I listen to so that I don't get bored with it and also have different playlists for different kinds of training days. I never have to mess with worrying about syncing my shuffle now to fit my workouts every day!
I have also used this shuffle while biking, lifting weights, hiking, and trail running. It's always a pleasure to use!
As someone who is comfortable with the basic headphones all iPods come with, I don't mind that you can't pick any headphones you want to while using this shuffle. However, I know a lot of people are very particular about their headphones, so this is definitely a defect with this product if the Apple headphones don't work for you.
Love it for Cycling!,

UDATE: I've had this unit since Christmas and have encountered ONE GLITCH that is intermittent and it's the USB. It could be my computer? But it doesn't always recognize the shuffle so I use a different USB port and retry and it works. My laptop is brandnew in November, by the way (4 months old). I sweat and ride in rainy weather/misty and haven't had any problems with the earbuds yet. I don't fiddle with the controls much on my bike but when I do they work well.
I used to work out with my iPod Video (much larger unit than the newest gen Shuffle). Generally I ride a road bike.
That said please note that I usually ride with just one earpiece in for safety.
The unit itself is so small...it's crazy lightweight. It comes with its own clip so it's easy to attach to my jersey.
The earphones leave a bit to be desired because where you control the volume and skip to next song/pause is on the earphone set up and it's fairly close to your ear/neck. So while on the bike if I want to change something WHILE riding...it's not so safe. So I don't do that much at all! But then again, I rarely changed things with my iPod Video either unless I just started out on the wrong playlist.
You can insert a different pair of earphones if you want but you will lose the ability to forward past a song or change the volume if needed.
5 stars for portability/lightweight unit
4 stars for functionality (the controls are a tad too close to the ear part...IMHO)
5 stars for storage/memory (so far I have at least 3.5 hours of music loaded on my 2gb shuffle)
5 stars for a shuffle function on the unit itself!!! = easy to select this option or unselect
I just received this unit as Christmas gift but what I have noticed is that my computer seems to have a bit of a struggle recognizing the iPod as quickly as it recognizes my other usb based items. ?
Its size...it's perhaps two times thicker than a house key BUT it's not as wide nor as long as the average house key. Imagine a stick of Juicy Fruit gum (old school style)...about that width but not that long.
If you're considering purchasing this for a younger/less responsible person I could see this possibly getting misplaced easily if only because it's so small and light weight...lost in couch cushions...in the bed covers...dropped and not noticed. However, it's inexpensive as iPods go...it's a smaller gamble than the newer iPod nano perhaps.
I love my new shuffle though!
