Volume threshold,

Great player. Happy with controls. I used this player for about two weeks. I just sent it back because it does not output enough bass. I was listening to a song I know well and something was missing so I compared it by playing the same song with my old player through the same car stereo - big difference. I emailed Archos and they said they were sorry. I started to investigate and it turns out that this player is likely manufactured under EU regulations that limit the decibels. I hope the American government doesn't start regulating our mp3 players in the future.
Sansa has a comparable unit in this price range and I have already ordered it. Amazon was great as always, BTW. The Archos arrived much quicker than stated in great condition and the return was quick and easy, but the decibel limitation was not advertised.
Thanks Amazon
Good MP3 Player,

This MP3 player have been great! Although I haven't been able to play video on it. Does anyone know how to do that? THe sound quality if okay,it doesn't let you get the exact volume you want. The screen is a little sticky, but after a while you get used to it. It is extreamly light weight. I wish there was case or something you could buy to protect it, but Archos doesn't offer it.
Overall, it is a below acceptable music player for the price.
after having it for 3 months, it has already started to wear out, the sound quality is horrible and it stops and starts randomly. the warranty does not work and the video does not work. I am not pleased with it.
Misleading matertial,

The manual was very hard to follow. Never sure which area refered to my product. Tech support was inadaquite to say the least. Eventually they said the product was defective I think just to get me off the phone. The best I can say about the whole experience was the hassle free Amazon return policy.
Buyer beware of yhis product.
Brand new Archos 2 makes my laptop crash,
by imdeep3, 2010-08-15
First of all the player looks decent enough and the packaging it came in too was not bad.
However the touch screen was not as responsive as expected. I had a lot of problems navigating to the correct icon and song.
Then when I tried to attach the player to my Laptop to copy some songs, I instantly got a memory dump blue screen and my laptop restarted.
This has been happening all the time and the player makes my laptop crash every time i connect it to the laptop.
I have still not been able to resolve this problem.
Sadly I had to leave for my country the day after I received the package and I have no idea how to go about resolving it now.
Anybody facing the same issue can you please guide me through any solution to this problem.
Is this a hardware defect in the player or what else could be wrong with it.
There are many others out there with better quality!,

Try a more reputable player - and seller; ANTLONLINE has only their interest at heart - BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
- Poor (very substandard) battery life
- Cheaply manufactured
- "Slider" function to select features is absurdly poor
- Sound quality is comical
- AntONLINE's customer service effort is cold and as close to non-existent as one can get.
- AntONLINE goes about the task of fleecing customers with a skill likened to a knife-wielding bandit stalking it's prey in dark alleys. Again, BUYER BEWARE!!
