Customer Reviews

Ok for the price,
by C. Carter, 2010-07-26

I was disappointed that it did not have a built in battery. Instead it uses a AAA battery. Unless you are looking at the the screen you don't know it is going to die. There is no audio indication that the battery is low. I was disappointed in the fact that it is all plastic. It could easily get stepped on and broke. It looks cheaply made. But it does sound good and I used it on a 2 week motorcycle trip and I had no problems with it.

COBY mp3,

Buen reproductor, facil de usar, económico, buen tamaño...
Lo único que podría ser mejor son los audífonos, el sonido es pobre.

Fantastic MP3 Player,
by KraftyKid, 2010-07-19

I bought two of these players one for me, one for my husband. Since one was for me and I needed practice, I downloaded mine first. Used Windows. It was soooo easy. I decided that if you can rip or burn a cd you can do this easily. Every thing worked like a charm. However, since the second one was a birthday gift for my husband I wanted to be sure everything was correct so I read the directions. After that I really screwed up and worked so long and tried so hard to do it correctly. I finally decided to do his the same way I did mine and it worked perfectly. There are functions we will not use such as the FM radio, just don't get that kind of reception. Also will not use the files because I am not into sorting out my music. In fact I am going to reload my player and shuffle the files. I like different kinds of music and get bored with just one cd after another. Both my husband and I have wonderful headsets so the sound is really great.

The size is just perfect for our needs. They fit in a pants pocket or can be zipped into a jacket pocket. They cannot possibly get in the way while gardening, shoving stuff or doing crafts.

These are our very first MP3 players and I suggest if you want something easy to use, easy to replace and easy to manipulate you get a Coby. I am no spring chicken I am often referred to as the old stewer hen, if I can figure it out so easily so can you.

Has "RESUME PLAY FROM POWER OFF-ON",
by Randy M, 2010-07-17

I do not listen to music much, but rather I use players for playing the audio from full length movies I make into mp3's.
I rip dvd's and create the audio into mp3, to listen to while driving, or at work, or doing yard work.
So my mp3 player must have the feature to "resume play from power on". If Im in the middle of a movie, and power off the player,
I need it to resume play from where it left off when powered off. This player DOES THAT!
Also, it plays various mp3 bit rates. So this player is very flexible in playing anything you toss on it.
Sound is good, plenty loud, clear. Music sounds great. I usually rip my movie audio in low bit rates to reduce file size.
This player plays my low bit rate mp3's just great. EQ helps tweak sound quality to your liking.
You can copy folders to this player and navigate from folder to folder.
This player also has the "HOLD-LOCK BUTTON", so switching it to hold-lock keeps the controls from functioning.
So you don't hit a button accidentally. Hold-lock disables the buttons from functioning. A nice feature!!!

So this little player has all I need. HOLD-LOCK, RESUME PLAY FROM POWER OFF-ON, various MP3 bit rate playable, and supports folders.
I like this player !!!!

The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is I have not tested battery life yet. But the fact you can just stick in a new AAA battery
when needed is a HUGE plus, compared to having to charge an internal battery as is the case with some other players I rejected.

So Far It Looks Good,
by Djohn, 2010-07-14

The first one was dead on arrival but this one is operating
as described so far. I would like to see Coby put in a
USB rechargeable Li ion battery in this one that would be larger than
those in their other Li ion models.
