A Nice Supplement,
by Matt Orr, 2010-06-06
I desperately needed a case for my 32GB Zen because the screen kept getting scratched whilst in my bag. This product seemed to do the trick fine. It seems to be the only case uniquely designed for this model of Zen so the competition between products is non-existent; it becomes more of a choice of whether or not it's worth it. And honestly, for the price, I can see people just doing without. The lack of a protective screen inside surprised me, but I suppose it's not necessary because it has a cover. The belt clip doesn't work as a belt clip for me because it's not very secure. That being said, it does work really well as a stand to set the Zen up while I am watching a movie or TV show on it. All in all, the product is of decent quality and works for what I need but quite honestly is not worth the price I paid.
Not great, not awful.,

Not a perfect fit for my 32 gb Zen. All the holes line up though, and I like the magnet closure. Wish it had better screen protection. Haven't used the belt clip but it looks functional.
Decent case -- best I've found so far,

Summary: Somewhat stylish and attractive, quite functional and largely protective case for the Creative Zen.
Pros: Lightweight, soft (no scratches to you or your Zen), self-latching using magnets, easy access to most functions (see cons), good impact protection in sane situations, easy to open and close (one-handed too), won't fly open under most conditions, has tight-snapping belt loop.
Cons: Smelly at first (leather dyes or tanning that take a few weeks to diffuse), does not offer a vinyl scratch-protective cover for the screen, edge partially covers the right >> button, a tag (which is easily removable) makes the insertion of the headphone jack annoying, red edge trim is gaudy (if you're looking for a solid-black cover, like it should have been, this is not it), self-standing function is iffy at best.
Other thoughts: This case is not intended to be bombproof; it's for 24/7 use when there's a reasonable degree of caution. It will keep your Zen safe from scratches and damage in a purse, pocket, cloth bag full of miscellaneous stuff that you bring on a trip, etc. Do not expect it to protect your Zen if you want to drop it in the ocean, step on it, leave it for your dog to chew on, etc. Concerns about the magnets are wholly unfounded. Low-gauss magnetism has no effect on the unit, and those who imagine the magnets do, have either failed, or should have taken high school physics. If your unit is unstable, it's likely due to the terrible software.

I couldn't figure out the type of case to get for my Zen. My wife has a Zen with the hard plastic case and ring which works great for her because she uses it at the gym. I wanted all my music in my car & office. This case was perfect. Not shown in the picture is the belt clip on the back of the case. At first I thought I'd cut that off because I didn't need it and like things compact but then realised that if you unsnap the belt clip it acts like an additional leg and the player stands up perfectly. Now in my car or office the player stands - easy to read. Love the good quality leather and having this soft padding around the player.
I did buy seperately the plastic lens cover which I also recomend (it is only a few dollars through Amazon and better safe then sorry). I am very pleased with the look & feel of this case.
Excellent companion to Zen player.,
