waterproof indeed, might be more convenient in use,
by oz, 2010-07-04
This seems the only quality product for those who seek reliable waterproof armband. Fits well on the arm, light, a little bulky. Now the things to improve:
1. (Noted by all owners) - hard to insert iPhone. I've noticed that the problem is not even due to a lack of space or narrow opening, no, the problem is the transparent shield! Its material is purposely chosen to stick to clean and glassy surface (which is actually convenient when iPhone is already inside, but REALLY-REALLY sucks when you are moving it in or out).
2. The start button of iPhone is really hard to access. Only a small part of it is under flexible screen, it's mostly hidden under the rigid protector.
3. Even though headphones connector looks the same as iPhone's original (4 sections) it does not seem function well. I've tried the original iPhone headphones with microphone and checked very well whether it was fully plugged, but microphone did not work anyway.
4. The latch which actually closes the opening is plastic and a) really hard to open; b) seems susceptible to an accidental bash (it's on the arm, almost shoulder...).
5. The hermetic container swells on the sun. Actually every time I had to re-open it to let the warm air out, otherwise it's like to play with your iPhone touch screen when it's inside a balloon. I think it would be easy to build in a simple pump with a valve. The ability to pump out air would actually do a great job to tighten iPhone fit within the container and make touch screen contact ideal.
Overall pretty good product with some space for improvements.
poor quality,
by Attiszek, 2010-06-21
What they spend on marketing with famous watermen, they take away from the materials and quality of the product. Firstly the removable plastic pouch is very thin around the seams, and was where I had my first leak. They sent me another one, but now I am afraid of using my IPOD classic in a potentially leaky product. I inspected the defective one and came to realise how poor the design is especially joining soft plastic to the hard plastic at the sealed entry point.
Putting the IPOD in is no easy task, and it has actually scratched the face of the ipod (rigid plastic). The earphones jack plugin for the armband is also quirky, and if you jiggle it around a little you will get sound distortion (using the H20 earbuds).
Poor design, poor quality, and expensive. You can get a 2Gb waterproof Mp3 player for the same price, and that has electronics...not only plastic with neoprene.
It's a good product... I'm confused by some other reviews...,

For starters, I will say that I purchased this for my iPod Classics (I have 2 30 GB classics and a 160 GB Classic) I have used all of them in this armband and have NEVER had a problem. I was reading a few reviews that commented on the fact that the armband is a two-piece contraption and that the iPod is held to the armband by a single strip of velcro... If that's the case, Amphibix must have heard the reviews and redesigned it, because mine is not like that. After reading a few reviews I TRIED to see if there was a way for an iPod to come out of it and could see no such flaw.
The seal that encloses the iPod into the armband is of good quality; I've had no problems as of yet (I've had it for maybe two months at this point). My biggest complaint with it, in fact, is that the fit is SO snug, that it's hard to get my iPod in/out of the armband...
In terms of "sound quality", I don't think it's fair to judge this armband on sound quality, as it is the speaker/earphone you choose. I have problems getting the proper seal on my headphones, so the sound cuts in and out, but I don't blame that on this armband...
H2O Armband,

Tried it out for the first time and I am pretty impressed. It fits comfortably on arm and I can operate my ipod (can't unlock or lock it though)in it and in the water. I swam for about an hour today and everything went perfectly. It didn't leak as I read the instructions and made sure nothing was obstructing the door from closing. Great product and I would definitely recommend this for anybody who doesn't mind reading instructions and has the 15 seconds it takes to make sure nothing is preventing this product from sealing you hundred + dollar ipod.
good product, but expensive,
