Design flaws and buggy software keeps this from being a decent product.,
by M. Zolton, 2010-07-23
The iHome iA5 is a great idea. Unfortunately, some design flaws and a buggy, counter-intuitive iPhone application keep it from being a decent product.
It's ok. They've done better,
by Selch, 2010-07-13
I've owned other iHome devices that were pretty solid, unfortunately this one isn't one of them. As others have noted, the light on the back of the unit is too bright. Also the accompanying software leaves a lot to be desired. The software is not intuitive and is very buggy.
Good but the connector needs more depth for some cases,
by J. Kurzner, 2010-06-24
Good product since it charges and plays while connected. But, the connector is a little short for some cases. Haven't tried it with iPhone v4
Stylish Dock with Nice App Integration,
by Thomas A. Ryan, 2010-06-09
This dock makes it easy to charge your iPhone/iPod while falling asleep to a custom soundtrack. The iPhone app is very slick and allows you to set custom alarms depending on the day. While the dock is somewhat lighter than expected, it feels solid and has nice button placement.
Broke after 2 days,
by C. Lollis, 2010-05-21
I purchased this as a mothers day gift from the kids for my wife. She had a twenty year old Sony alarm clock that still worked. Good thing, as after two days the the iHome would no longer charge the iPhone and it would give a message saying that the iHome was an incompatible device. I tried all the troubleshooting steps and no luck. I know it was not the phone as we tried two others and we are pretty sure it is a bad connection in the dock connector. I have sent it back for an exchange as the marketplace seller charges a restock fee otherwise but I have a feeling that this clock will not last 20 day let alone twenty years.
The speaker was okay, good enough for it's purpose but don't expect it to sound like a Bose radio. We had no alarm problems for the two days it worked.
