robust,

after a troublesome installation it's finally on and doing its job. no scratches... just don't drop your ipod.
do note that these newer batches have dropped the spray bottle of solution and have since gone to a "sponge" dispenser... must say i prefered the spray but really it's a pain to put on with either one.
great concept, good product,

I can't comment yet on durability or protection since i just applied the film. The big issue with this product seems to be the ease/difficulty of placing it on an ipod. The process isn't difficult if the user (a) follows instructions to a "t"; and (b) has experience applying decals, overlays, etc.
My brand new 7th G ipod is too pretty, too new, and too expensive for me not to want to protect it as best i can. I already have the thin silicone sleeve that has superlative reviews, but it has a floating face plate that doesn't provide the best protection for the most vulnerable part of the ipod, nor does the ipod fit in its dock with the sleeve on it. I didn't want a super protective Spex sleeve since that defeats the aesthetic and practical effect of the thin design of the ipod. I resigned myself to the fact that i simply need to be very careful with the delicate digital device, and that the protection i want is primarily from scratches. The "Invisible Shield" has already proven perfect for this purpose.
Placing the film on the ipod isn't too difficult, really. I read all the reviews and learned from others' comments. I read the instructions a few times before starting, and placed the film over the ipod before removing it from its backing. Advice: wash hands, spray fingers with fluid, USE THE SQUEEGEE, and use it firmly. Align the edges before you spread the film across the surfaces of the ipod.
WORDS OF CAUTION: (1) the fluid runs out fast--they don't really put a large enough amount in the package. (2) The box i received has a sticker underneath text stating that the "invisibleSHIELD [is] precision cut for the:" The sticker reads "Apple video ipod (60GB) FULL BODY". Because i lined up the film with the ipod before i peeled it from the backing, i discovered that for my 7th G 160 GB ipod i needed to trim the top and the edges slightly. Not perfect, but the product looks pretty good, wasn't difficult to apply, and DEFINITELY provides superlative scratch protection. Why ruin the iPod's form factor with a bulky case?,
by A. Nathanson, 2010-03-06
I am a big fan of the 6G iPod 120gb's thinness, which makes it a great pocket player. I also am a big fan of the player's looks. The question was, how do I keep my player looking new and scratch-free without compromising its form factor with a case? I stumbled upon the Zagg Invisible Shield while trying to find an answer to my question... I bought one, and swiftly botched the installation. You know why? Because I didn't take the time to go online and watch the videos on how to install these first. That's the key- their videos are short, concise, and I swear to you this thing is easily applied if you take but one moment to watch how it's done. My [second] installation was perfect- no bubbles, no imperfections, no sweat. You can't even tell the iPod is wearing a layer of what is essentially scratch-proof, indestructible plastic film. I am definitely a believer in Zagg products now. Keep your cool form-factor and appearance, lose the bulky case.
Good, but annoying,

This is a very protective case. It will easily and thoroughly protect your Ipod. However, it is VERY hard to apply to the product. The plastic will stick to your fingers, making it harder to apply at times. The plastic is not precisely cut, and it will not cover every part of the click wheel. It also has many bubbles on the back, they are very small, and don't disrupt its effectiveness. The only major shortcoming that bothers me at all, is that there are some bubbles on the screen, they are in the corner though. If you buy this, make sure to get the screen absolutely perfect before leaving it, even if it means reapplying the entire front several times. Overall this is a great product for those people who are wanting to completely protect their Ipod.
