Does the trick (both 3rdG itouch and 3gs iPhone can play and charge when connected to alpine car deck) Unfortunately this is bigger than you'd expect (zippo size in other review is about right). Therefore it does't fit well in our car. Good enough for road trips or if we need a charge, but if if you need it to fit in a small space look elsewhere.

the only thing i dont like is that it wont fit well with a case on my iphone ,

other than that , this thing is all cupcakes in my book ...

plug into iphone first , then system , no worries ..

doesn't work with Mini Cooper,

Got this as someone said it worked with their mini cooper. But it doesn't actually charge ALTHOUGh it shows a charging symbol when you plug it in. I tested this by draining my batter and plugging it in for 30 minutes. No charge....

i guess i did not research the product enough. this product does not work like i thought it would. i have a jvc unit and it does not work with that specific unit. i was trying to hook an ipod touch to my 4-5 yr old ipod adapter on my jvc and... nothing. not sure where to go from here. i believe there needs to be more info available upfront to warn of possible conflicts.

I had my car wired so I could play my iPhone's music through the radio. After using it for a while, I noticed that the iPhone was not charging while connected to the car's radio. I bought this product so that the iPhone would charge while connected. This product does not work at all as the iPhone still loses power while connected and does not charge. I would have sent it back, but I had thrown out the box. Do not buy this-- it does not work.
