Why doesn't Apple Make One of These?,
by Earl S. Wolcott, 2010-07-13

As noted by many other reviewers, this adapter for the iPod mini has a very sensitive switch, which makes it difficult to use correctly. Certainly nowhere as reliable as the supplied Apple switch/earphones. Why doesn't Apple garner this business for itself by offering an automobile adapter, rather than abdicating the field to these fly-by-night manufacturers in China.

won't last,
by ipoduser, 2010-07-06

Only lasted a couple of months before it started shorting out and resetting the ipod every few minutes. This isn't too surprising since there is no strain relief on the cables going into the control section. I'm going to try the Belkin version to see if it is more durable.

Cheap piece of plastic but was good for the first few months,
by athletic girl, 2010-06-26

This product worked fine for the first few months I had it but it soon started to garble the music unless I had the wire rotated in a certain position. It's basically just a little piece of black plastic with two wires--not reinforced in any way and thus more vulnerable to wear and tear (which it experienced often as I primarily use my ipod during exercise). The long, thin design made it flop around a lot when I went jogging and clipped the ipod on my shorts. Over the next few months it gradually became more and more finicky in terms of how precisely I had to adjust the plug position so that the sound wouldn't be garbled. Finally today it just died on me after 9 months of use. Although, given that ipods and their accessories all seem to have really short lives that's about how long I expected it to last.

Good item for the price.,
by Raphael Renta, 2010-06-24

Product arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Although there have been some negative reviews I have not had any problems. Sound quality was excellent when used with the ear buds, however when plugged into a car radio the sound had to be cranked up to the highest level and then it was adequate.

It's OK,
by Dennis Goodhart, 2010-06-21

I read a lot of reviews about this product before I bought it. I thought I'd try it anyway. It works just fine. Like all electronics it needs to be handled carefully.

The problem is Apple's stupid headphones and control design, This at least give you the freedom to use other headsets, plug it into speakers or your car radio and still control the playlists and volume.
