I purchased this with my new 7g 160gig Ipod classic. I was not sure at the time if it would fit. The information was unclear and I ended up doing a lot of research for the sizing because I did not want to deal with returns. Well it does fit. The package includes a extra rubber spacer that it says is for the 80g Ipod classic. The spacer works for the 7g as well. It makes a snug fit and the ports are centered over the holes in the case. I am not sure how long it will last as this is the first day I've had it. Just wanted to let others know it will fit the new model.

The case fits well and provides a traction that makes lets it stay put on most surfaces or be held securely in the hand. The reviewer who complained about the loose fit may not have noticed the flat insert that is provided with the product to adapt it for certain models (e.g., the Classic 160 7G). Seems expensive for a piece of molded rubber, but the functionality is worth it.

I'm very happy with this case. It fits the current generation iPod Classic (160) perfectly. The iPod is held snugly by the thick rubber and all of the controls are easily accessible. I also find that it is very easy to take off the cover for use with speaker docks and whatnot. The only drawback is the bulk is adds to the otherwise slim iPod, to the point where it isn't really practical to slip it into a pocket. But, I think this is a fair tradeoff for the protection it provides. I actually "tested" mine the other day by mistakenly dropping my iPod onto pavement from 3-4 feet up. It was totally fine!
